This Act is the Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters (Amendment) and Other Matters Act 2024 and comes into operation on a date that the Minister appoints by notification in the Gazette.

AMENDMENT OF EXTRADITION ACT 1968

Clause 2part_1.clause_0

In the Extradition Act 1968, in section 2(1), in the definition of “foreign State”, in paragraph (b), replace sub‑paragraph (ii) with —“(ii)any territory (including any territory specified in the Third Schedule);”.

Clause 3part_1.clause_1

In the Extradition Act 1968, in section 43(2), replace “the official seal of a Minister in or” with “an official seal or public seal, or stamped with an official stamp, of that State or territory, or of a Minister, a department or an official of the government,”.
