International Development Association (Amendment) Bill

This Act is the International Development Association (Amendment) Act 2022 and comes into operation on a date that the Minister appoints by notification in the Gazette.

Section 4 of the International Development Association Act 2002 is amended —(a)by deleting the words “and other contributions” in subsection (1);(b)by deleting the word “The” in subsection (2) and substituting the words “Subject to subsection (3), the”;(c)by inserting, immediately after subsection (2), the following subsection:“(3) Any additional subscription made on any occasion on behalf of the Government to the Association by reason of Singapore’s membership of the Association under the Agreement and the membership resolution must be authorised by, and must not exceed the maximum amount specified in, a resolution of Parliament for that occasion.”; and(d)by deleting the words “and contributions” in the section heading.

“(3) Any additional subscription made on any occasion on behalf of the Government to the Association by reason of Singapore’s membership of the Association under the Agreement and the membership resolution must be authorised by, and must not exceed the maximum amount specified in, a resolution of Parliament for that occasion.”; and
