Singapore Land Authority Act 2001

This Act is the Singapore Land Authority Act 2001.

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires —“Authority” means the Singapore Land Authority established under section 3;“Chairperson” means the Chairperson of the Authority and includes any temporary Chairperson of the Authority;“Chief Executive” means the Chief Executive of the Authority, and includes any individual acting in that capacity;“debenture” includes debenture stock;“Deputy Chairperson” means the Deputy Chairperson of the Authority and includes any temporary Deputy Chairperson of the Authority;“land” includes foreshores and any interest in land;“member” means any member of the Authority;“public authority” means any board, body or authority established by or under any written law to perform or discharge any public function;“securities”, in relation to a company, includes shares, debentures, bonds and other securities of the company, whether or not constituting a charge on the assets of the company;“shares” includes stock;“State land” means all land in Singapore except —(a)land lawfully granted, or contracted to be granted, in fee simple or estate in perpetuity by or on behalf of the Government;(b)land subject to any agreement, lease or licence lawfully granted by or on behalf of the Government; and(c)land dedicated as national parks or nature reserves,and includes any land which, having been granted or held under any agreement, lease or licence, has been lawfully surrendered or resumed or compulsorily acquired, and any land which, having been lawfully held by any person for any estate or interest, has been or is lawfully forfeited to, or by any means has reverted or reverts to, the Government;“State title” includes any grant in fee simple or estate in perpetuity, any State lease (of whatever tenure) and any temporary occupation licence.

“Authority” means the Singapore Land Authority established under section 3;

“Chairperson” means the Chairperson of the Authority and includes any temporary Chairperson of the Authority;

“Chief Executive” means the Chief Executive of the Authority, and includes any individual acting in that capacity;

“debenture” includes debenture stock;

“Deputy Chairperson” means the Deputy Chairperson of the Authority and includes any temporary Deputy Chairperson of the Authority;

“land” includes foreshores and any interest in land;

“member” means any member of the Authority;

“securities”, in relation to a company, includes shares, debentures, bonds and other securities of the company, whether or not constituting a charge on the assets of the company;

“shares” includes stock;

“State land” means all land in Singapore except —(a)land lawfully granted, or contracted to be granted, in fee simple or estate in perpetuity by or on behalf of the Government;(b)land subject to any agreement, lease or licence lawfully granted by or on behalf of the Government; and(c)land dedicated as national parks or nature reserves,and includes any land which, having been granted or held under any agreement, lease or licence, has been lawfully surrendered or resumed or compulsorily acquired, and any land which, having been lawfully held by any person for any estate or interest, has been or is lawfully forfeited to, or by any means has reverted or reverts to, the Government;
